B.C. energy and mining projects worth more than $100 billion will need 48,000 workers
The coming construction peak is expected to exceed the province's last boom, Business in Vancouver reports.

More than 48,000 workers will be needed to build over $100 billion in energy, mining and infrastructure projects in British Columbia over the next five to six years, Business in Vancouver reported on Monday, according to Business Examiner.
Two projects worth roughly $70 billion combined, the second phase of LNG Canada and the Pacific Link oil pipeline, were approved within days of each other about two weeks earlier.
Between 2019 and 2024, LNG Canada, Coastal GasLink, the Trans Mountain expansion and Site C employed at least 20,000 people at the 2022 peak. BC Building Trades executive director Brynn Bourke said the coming peak will be higher.
LNG Canada Phase 2, a $33-billion investment that will double the Kitimat facility's export capacity, is expected to employ 4,000 people in Kitimat at peak construction, according to the report.
